Fiesta Odalan, A NYC Performance & Fundraiser

BALAM will present an evening of favorite pieces and new works to commemorate founding director Islene Pinder’s vibrant cross-cultural vision and pioneering spirit.  The program will feature an exclusive video excerpt of Islene’s groundbreaking choreographic work and personal Balinese archive and performances by the full company.

Don't miss guest artist Irma Sandrey, film and Broadway actor and master teacher from the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, make a special appearance reading an excerpt from "The Diary of Anna Karenina".  Also highlighted are Kenneth Hamrick of American Virtuosi on piano, and Lisa Terry of Parthenia, A Consort of Viols, performing two movements from the Bach Cello Suite on baroque cello. 

BALAM's eclectic group of artists Nani Devi, Inma Herdia, Carlos Fittante, Robin Gilbert, Toshinori Hamada, Anton Zea Nadal and Dianna Warren will sing, dance and act in a diversity of works including traditional Balinese dance, mask and ballet point work, Commedia dell'Arte, Spanish Escuela Bolera, Colonial Peruvian inspired dances and Noh Theatre, 


Light refreshments will be available for purchase.  Visit the BALAM Boutique and purchase Balinese artwork, colorful silk scarves, picture frames, and many more fine gift items.  All proceeds will benefit BALAM’s workshop and performance of "Ramayana: Abduction of Sita" in a summer enrichment program for the underserved elementary school children and residents of Hunter and Tannersville, New York, July 2-12, 2013.  


The doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the performance starts at 6 p.m.  The program runs approximately 75 minutes, with a 15 minute intermission.


The suggested ticket donation starts at $30, with a special student rate of $20.  (One complimentary drink is included with your $30 ticket purchase.) Seating is limited.  Reservations and ticket purchases are required in advance.  
Your advanced ticket purchase will guarantee you a seat.  The house opens at 5:30 and unpaid reservations will be held until 5:45 only.
